Wickwar Wessex Pub Company acquires renowned ale brands

First and foremost, we hope you and your families are keeping safe and well during these particularly challenging times. It’s a tough time for all of us and COVID-19 has been particularly difficult for our Brewing Company. So much so that we do have some sad news to share with you as, after 30 enjoyable years of brewing in Wickwar, we are sorry to confirm that we have made the decision to cease ale production at Wickwar brewery. This has been an incredibly difficult, emotional and painful decision but is unavoidable given the impact of the pandemic.

The good news is that your favourite ales will continue to be available as Wickwar Wessex Pub Company has acquired the Wickwar and Moles ale brands which are now being faithfully reproduced to their original recipes by long-standing contract brewing partners.

In the run-up to Christmas and ahead of the New Year we are delighted to confirm that the Wickwar Christmas Ale Shop is being operated by the Pub Company in the old brewery shop premises. Here you will find a range of your favourite Wickwar draught and bottled ales for your enjoyment through the festive season.

Despite the end of brewing in Wickwar and the closure of the Brewing company, the acquisition of the brands by Wickwar Wessex Pub Company means that these award-winning ales will remain on sale to customers via all thirteen of our Wickwar pubs, local free houses and various retailers such as B&M stores.

Whilst the pandemic has undoubtedly brought difficulties and pressures to all of us, not least in the shape of the above unfortunate news, we are delighted that we will are able to maintain availability of the Wickwar ale range and look forward to serving you, our loyal customers in the coming months and years ahead.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.
