Our gorgeous pub, The Jersey Lily on Whiteladies Road in Clifton, has beaten off stiff competition from over 1,000 pubs around the country to be named Best Cask Ale Pub of the Year, in the Star Pubs and Bars national awards ceremony.

Jersey's cask ale was judged against stringent criteria from its taste, smell and temperature to its presentation and was found to be ‘spot on’ in every area.  The judges also commented on the superb range on offer with “an ale to suit every taste”.

The Jersey Lily is one of our seven Bristol pubs to serve a selection of our premium, handcrafted cask ales.

Our pub’s knowledgeable and friendly service played a key part in our win, with Steph and her team scoring full marks in both areas.

We pride ourselves on the extensive training our staff receive from our brewery. The judges noted how this, combined with our pub’s ‘try before you buy policy’, enables us to help customers find their perfect pint.

It wasn’t just the quality of the beer that caught the judges’ attention but the whole pub itself.  Lawson Mountstevens, Star Pubs & Bars managing director said: “A great pint is the mark of a great pub and customers get the whole package at The Jersey Lily: faultless beer, a terrific atmosphere, good food and entertainment. What could be better! It’s an outstanding example of the great British pub.”

The Jersey Lily General Manager, Stephanie Coles and our Director Mike Flavin, received the coveted prize at a gala awards night in Manchester from Coronation Street star Kym Marsh.

Stephanie says, “As a brewery pub, we pride ourselves on our cask ales and put a huge amount of hard work into looking after them to ensure they’re served in prime condition. It’s a great honour to receive this acknowledgement and a real accolade to the skill and commitment of our brilliant staff.
